CollectionsinEurope.com is a website of Bierens Advocaten B.V., Bierens Incasso B.V. and Bierens Beheer B.V., hereafter to be called “Bierens Group”.

Bierens Group values the protection of your privacy. The personal details we have obtained from you through this website or otherwise will be processed in accordance with the applicable privacy regulation and will only be used as described in this statement.

This statement concerns the processing of clients’ and prospects’ details for marketing purposes and the processing of personal details. This privacy statement describes how Bierens Group obtains your personal details, which personal details are processed by Bierens Group for which purposes, and which rights you may exercise based on the General Data Protection Regulation. Personal details are only processed as described in this statement.

1. For Whom Is this Privacy Statement Intended?

This privacy statement is intended for all people whose personal details are processed by Bierens Group for the purpose of handling cases and for marketing purposes, namely Bierens’ clients and prospects and the people who signed up for newsletters and invitations from Bierens Group to attend seminars, workshops and other events.

2. Obtaining Personal Details

Bierens Group obtains your personal details directly from you. You yourself have provided personal details to Bierens Group in order to handle your cases. You have completed a contact form or web form with your personal details or you have given us your contact details on a business card during an initial meeting, at an event, a conference, etc.

3. Purposes for the Processing of Your Personal Details

Your personal details may be used for the following purposes:

4. Cookies

To optimize your visits to CollectionsinEurope.com, we maintain anonymous visitors’ statistics. We use cookies for this. Cookies are also used to allow you direct access to our social media. We have no influence on this. We have not given Google permission to share the information obtained.

These are cookies placed by third parties, in our case by Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube (Google). These cookies allow direct sharing on these social media. We have no influence on how Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube (Google) handle the information obtained. If you contact us on social media, you may inadvertently share data in addition to the details you provide yourself. We may receive your name, profile and interests, for instance. The data being shared depends on your own settings of preferences. 5. Retention Period

Your personal details will be processed until you inform Bierens Group that you no longer wish to receive digital messages and/or Bierens Group stops sending newsletters, invitations to seminars, workshops, events or other digital mailings.

Your personal details will be deleted or anonymized if:

  • your email address appears to be no longer in use (for instance: if we receive error messages);
  • your personal details are being processed and/or retained based on your permission and you retract that permission;
  • the legitimate interest on which we based our processing of your personal details ceases to apply, for instance:
  • your business ceases to exist.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to request that Bierens Group allow you access to your personal details and/or to rectify, complete, erase or protect these, and/or to restrict, and/or to obtain these in a structured, accepted and legible format. In as far as this concerns the processing of your personal details based on a legitimate interest, you have the right to object to this processing.

7. The Security of Your Personal Details and Third Parties

Bierens Group has taken suitable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal details from loss or against any form of wrongful processing. Bierens Group does not share your personal details with third parties for commercial purposes. Bierens Group may organise an activity with another party. In that event, the relevant contact details are only shared in as far as necessary for organising that activity.

8. Future Changes to this Privacy Policy

Bierens Group reserves the right to modify this privacy statement from time to time and for any reason. Obviously, we will remain within the limits of the privacy regulation. In the event of radical changes of this privacy statement, we will inform you of these changes.
